Leaping Horseman Books is a small publishing house that
specialises in books about the Eastern Front, and Stalingrad
in particular. Our aim is to publish books and other material
that is of interest to many people but that is not being
produced by larger publishers. Stalingrad is a very popular
subject - and there are indeed dozens of books written about
it - but there is a surprising lack of new information.
It is the lofty goal of Leaping Horseman Books to try to
rectify this shortcoming.

Apologies
for the delay in updating the website. It has been very busy
here since the release of "Angriff" in November
last year. In addition to packing, we've been working on some
new titles. More about that later. To those of you who have
ordered
"Angriff," thank you.
And we hope you've enjoyed the book. If you haven't yet ordered,
you can find more information about the book here.
Several new books are in the works. First
up will be a translation of a German memoir. We don't want
to give away too much at the moment but this officer won the
Knight's Cross and German Cross in Gold at Stalingrad, and
was also captured there. Another book slated for publication
this year is a detailed history of a particular pioneer battalion,
from its formation until its demise in Stalingrad. A vast
amount of rare material (photos, diaries, letters, etc.) has
been gathered for this book which allows an insight into the
thoughts and actions of one battalion.
You may have noticed the message at the
top of the page. In 2007, Jason Mark and a small group toured
Volgograd. The trip was a big success. We gained access to
several sites that have not been visited by westerners before
(most notable was the Grain Elevator). Well, another trip
is on the cards, this time to the Crimea. The region is packed
with historical sites, so Michael Hawash - a good friend -
has organised an extremely interesting itinerary. There are
still a few spots for this tour, so if you've ever thought
about going to the Crimea, why not do it with a group of fellow
enthusiasts? But be quick because those few spots will go
fast. A detailed itinerary is available on request. Send us
an email or contact Michael Hawash directly (his email address
is mhawash(at)burfordmaney(dot)com ).
"Turning
Point" is still available. Very few books portray the
Russian point-of-view. This book was written by Russian veterans
for Russian readers. If
you want to see the war through the eyes of Red Army officers
and soldiers, this book is for you. Retail price is AUD $50.00.

"Death
of the Leaping Horseman" has now sold out for the third
time: a reprint is not currently being planned. However,
if there's enough demand for it, a reprint will be considered,
so register
your interest by clicking here.
The hardcover edition of
"Island of Fire" is now also sold out... all imperfect
copies of both the hardcover and paperback have also been
sold; however, the paperback edition is still readily available.
Finally, we would
like to thank all of our customers for your support throughout
2008 and for the many encouraging words about our titles.
